I posted
these photos and videos of various funeral home mortuaries in mid September. In under a month that post has been viewed over 100 times, making it the second most popular post on this blog.
So here's a few more pictures of inside a funeral home mortuary. Enjoy!
The pictures below are of the Lady Anne Funerals mortuary. Recently Lady Anne Funerals allowed me to spend the day with them, and to take photos. I'll have a full post about my time there this friday, these are just the photos of the mortuary.
Here is my post about inside Lady Anne Funerals, with more information and photos of the funeral home.

The mortuary. |

The head block, used to elevate the deceased's head. |

An embalming machine. |
|
A medical waste bin. It has a foot pedal so you
do not need to touch the bin with hands. |
|
The blueish liquid in the spray bottle is "dis spray".
Short for disinfectant spray. Used to clean many tools and surfaces. |
|
The mortuary door. |
|
One can never have too many towels in a mortuary. |
|
Various tools, sorted into colourful draws. |
The Lady Anne Funerals mortuary was spotless. Absolutely perfectly clean, even inside the drains were clean. The staff did not have warning that I would be there, so they had not cleaned for the photos. This is just how it normally is.
These next photos were given to me anonymously by someone in the funeral industry. Unfortunately I don't have many pictures of tools, so they were gracious enough to send me some.

Eye caps, placed under the eyelid to keep the
the eyes closed and stop them looking 'sunken'. |

Box of eye caps. |

ReplyDeleteYes the tools look rusty and disgusting.
ReplyDeleteNot that the bodies are going to get tetanus from a rusty scalpel. However, I agree: it doesn't seem quite right.
